Behind Enemy Lines

I said ill fight for my foot soldiers

But circumstances got a foothold

I showed her the loyalty of a mercenary

As thanks for the way she served me

That never was an intention of mine

But sometimes that’s how friendship defined

You’ve got to know when to sever the spine

All’s fair cause it’s not the fairest of lives

I promised to defend your name in these fights

But sometimes to win, we’ve got to switch sides

We crossed the border, drew battle lines

I wish I could retract my knife back out your spine

But I forgive you for whatever you didn’t do

Forgive me for what it was I was meant to do

But don’t forget why I first crossed enemy lines

Because I’ll walk into a war for any friend of mine

Forgive me
